A Few Firsts...

This summer we tried 2 new things (and they have nothing to do with each other).

We planted a vegetable garden and all three boys were on a swim team.  Both exceeded our expectations!

We were amazed to see that something actually grew from the tiny plants and not just that they grew, but that we could eat what we grew! We planted tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and bell peppers.

And all three boys learned so much about swimming and competition this summer. They loved the practices and weekly meets. I think they enjoyed the meets because they knew they would get ribbons the next day.

The very beginning of our garden.

Starting to grow

Picking our first harvest!

So beautiful!

Blackberries, too!

Here it is in full bloom!

The cucumbers were my favorite to watch grow.

Abram worked on freestyle and breast this year. We just love watching him swim and the boys perfected their dive and the freestyle. We were so proud of them, especially because at the beginning of the summer all of them said they really weren't interested in swimming.

It was so fun watching them learn something new together. They loved going to practice every day!

And there goes Abram.
