Jack and Luke have been so very excited about their upcoming birthday!! Not only were they turning a year older, but this was their party year (we only do big parties every other year). Their birthday was on a Wednesday and their party was on the following Saturday. It was a fun filled week celebrating our sweet boys!
Our family loves traditions... we love doing them and looking forward to them. This year I added a new one. I made a poster and put it on their door for them to see when they woke up. They thought all of these big numbers were just crazy! Of course we had to take our annual picture with the birthday flag and not only do they pick out every meal, but we sing Happy Birthday with a candle at every meal, too!

They are getting so big!! |
Their breakfast menu consisted of a Costco muffin (their favorite), strawberries and a hard boiled egg |
Of course, they chose different dinner menus... Jack asked for a cheeseburger, tomatoes and yogurt |
And Luke requested fish sticks, blueberries and a yogurt |
Because they could both draw and paint and color all day long, I thought it was only fitting to have a paint party for our art loving boys! For me, deciding on a theme is the hard part- once that is decided, its full steam ahead! I love every moment of the planning and I love seeing it all come together. Here's the details (my favorite part) before the kiddos arrived...
Carport area, where we played Pin the Paint on the Palette |
Creative Juices |
Everyone received an apron before they started painting |
Their birthday pictures from years past... |
Screened in area, where we painted initial canvases |
Party Favors |
I made 12 of these mobiles and hung them everywhere. I loved watching them spin in the wind. |
We stacked boxes, spray painted them white, and they could paint a cake. |
Painting balloons. Chris was the most skeptical about this station, but it was the kids' favorite. |
Paint a Rainbow |
Our backyard before the kids arrived |
Party Food: Paint Chips, Paint Brushes, Fruit and Veggie Palette |
And of course the paint palette cakes! |
They could not handle it any longer! They were so excited for their friends to arrive!!
Happy Birthday, Jack and Luke. We love you to the moon and back and back again (as Jack likes to say to us every night).
